The federal minimum wage for workers in federally regulated private sectors rose to $17.30 per hour on April 1, 2024.

- Homeworkers: Individuals performing paid work from home will see their wages rise from $18.20 to $18.90 per hour.
- Hunting, fishing, and wilderness guides: The new minimum daily wage will be $82.85 (up from $77.60) for shifts under five hours, and $165.75 (up from $155.25) for shifts longer than five hours.
According to the Ontario Living Wage Network, the living wage in many regions is around $20 per hour, surpassing $25 per hour in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Labor activists continue to advocate for a $20 per hour minimum wage in Ontario to better reflect current living costs.
